A cracked screen is a one-hour decision. Your reviews make it.
The problem: the relief lasts until they reach the MRT
Phone repair has the shortest satisfaction window in any trade. The customer walks in with a dead screen and a dead day ahead of them. Forty-five minutes later the phone lights up, everything works, the price was what you quoted. They are genuinely delighted — for about as long as the walk back to the train.
By dinner, the phone is just their phone again. The crisis is forgotten, and with it any impulse to review. You run this loop dozens of times a week, and the public record of it is almost nothing — while the customer whose repair had a complication, or who misunderstood the warranty, writes paragraphs.
High volume makes this more fixable, not less. A shop doing twenty repairs a day only needs a fraction of those customers to say yes for the profile to transform within months. The raw material is already walking out your door every hour. It's simply never asked.
Why the map results are the whole market
Nobody plans a phone repair. The screen cracks, and within the hour they search "phone repair near me" and pick from the map results — the decision is that fast. What they're scanning for, in order: distance, then proof the shop is safe.
"Safe" in this trade means two specific things, and reviews are the only evidence for either. First, honest pricing: "quoted $80 on WhatsApp, paid $80" — because everyone has heard the story of the repair that doubled at collection. Second, data and parts: "didn't touch my photos", "genuine-feeling screen, six months on and perfect". A shop with 200 reviews carrying those words wins the walk-in over the authorised centre's queue and over every competitor on the same stretch.
Speed of the decision also means recency rules. A profile with reviews from this week reads as a shop that's busy and good right now — which is precisely what an urgent searcher needs to see.
How ScoreJack works for phone repair shops
The trigger is collection, and at your volumes the add has to be fast: name and WhatsApp number in the portal, about ten seconds, done by whoever hands the phone back. Many shops build it into the receipt step — the customer's number is usually already in your WhatsApp from the quote.
If your point-of-sale or ticketing system can send a webhook when a repair is marked collected, the ask fires itself. Our Zapier integration (early access — email us for the invite) covers systems with a Zapier trigger.
Then:
- About two hours after collection, the customer gets a polite WhatsApp thank-you with a one-tap link to your Make-It-Right page, where the Google review button sits. The phone still feels new to them. That is the whole trick.
- If nothing happens in 48 hours, one gentle nudge.
- If still nothing at seven days, one final ask — then the sequence stops forever.
Any reply, link click, submitted feedback, or opt-out word ends the sequence instantly. Messages send during business hours only, paced like a person.
The unhappy customer has somewhere to go
The link does not go straight to Google. It opens your Make-It-Right page, which offers two things side by side: a Google review button, and a private message that goes straight to you, under "Something not right? Tell us and we'll make it right."
Every customer sees both. We never ask how they felt first and then decide which to show — that is review gating, and it breaks Google's rules. It is not a filter and it is no guarantee. It is a chance for someone to raise a problem directly — a touch issue they noticed that evening, a battery draining faster than expected — and when they do, their words reach you by email straight away, while a warranty fix still turns them into your loudest advocate.
What it costs
Three plans, starting at $49/month. Starter ($49, 60 requests a month) covers a single shop doing a handful of repairs a day. Growth ($149, 300 requests) is the natural fit for a busy shop — at high walk-in volume, this is the tier most phone repair businesses land on. Pro ($349, 1,000 requests) covers multi-outlet operators on one listing. Every plan includes every feature — webhook, Zapier, API.
